The new immigrant that just got hired may not speak fluent English. However, he or she entered this country with new and fresh perspectives that can benefit the company.

The sad thing is, most organizations are not fully tapping into their existing pool of ideas. They are oblivious to the fact that their next multimillion ideas can come from anywhere in the company.

The world’s population is about seven billion people. That means there are seven billion worlds on this planet. Why?

It’s because every single person has his or her own way of interpreting the world. Therefore everyone has a unique world.

if you can wrap our head around this simple concept, we would be aware of the importance of inclusion and diversity in the workplace.

Install idea Boxes Everywhere

The takeaway is, companies should install idea boxes everywhere. Moreover, they should bribe employees to participate. The bribe can be money, recognition, award, praises, etc.

The idea boxes are beneficial to everyone. It’s a win-win proposal. The company will benefit from having excellent ideas to solve their pressing problems.

The employees will get a chance to meet their psychological needs. According to Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, we have a strong need to belong and make a contribution.

When organizations encourage and embrace ideas from everyone, people automatically feel a sense of belonging. They feel good about their contribution.
